Accardi Barbell Club is an AWF-affiliated club based in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, built to develop high-performance athletes and introduce newcomers to the Olympic lifts.
Our approach blends elite coaching, state-of-the-art equipment, and a proven development system that has produced state and national record holders.
Our coaches bring over a decade of experience and are committed to building both skill and understanding. Every athlete is coached with purpose — in an environment that’s inclusive, supportive, and geared toward performance.
What is Olympic Weightlifting?
Olympic Weightlifting is a power sport made up of two explosive movements: the snatch and the clean & jerk. At our club, we train these core lifts along with tailored variations and assistance exercises to build strength, improve performance, and reduce injury risk—whether you're competing or just enjoy training with a barbell!

Our Results
Accardi Barbell Club athletes have won state and national championships, own state and national records and have been on Australian teams for Oceania and Commonwealth championships.
Our Programs
Elite Olympic Weightlifting Coaching
Develop strength and power using the Olympic lifts with Head Coach Brandon Accardi. Brandon has over a decade of experience coaching Olympic weightlifting at the national and international level with athletes qualifying for Oceania, Commonwealth and World championships.
Become Strong & Powerful
At Accardi Barbell Club, Power is the foundation of our programming and coaching system. With this framework we can focus on long term athlete development through technique, reduce injury, and build healthy and robust athletes.
Youth & Junior Pathway Membership (Ages 15-21)
We understand the importance of developing young athletes in a structured, supportive environment. Our youth and junior program focuses on building foundational strength, technique, and athleticism early, ensuring athletes are set up for long-term success both in sport and beyond.

Common FAQ’s
What are the gym's operating hours?
Our gym is open from 4-8 pm on Monday through Thursday (4-7 pm on Fridays), and from 8 - 9 am.
Outside the above coached sessions, the gym is available for private S&C and small group sessions via booking only.
Can I try a weightlifting session before committing to a membership?
Yes, we offer trial sessions for new members to experience our weightlifting classes before committing to a membership. Please contact us to arrange a trial session.
Do I need prior experience to join a weightlifting session?
No prior experience is necessary. We offer sessions for all skill levels, including beginners, intermediates, and advanced lifters.
Online Coaching
Maximise your training with adaptive programming and an experienced coach. When you sign up for online coaching you’ll receive feedback on your training while your coach adjusts your program based on your experience to ensure you are getting the most out of your training Over time, as our coaches learn how you respond to different cues, progressions and feedback, your program will become more individualised to what you need.

Our Strength & Conditioning and Olympic Weightlifting workshops are tailored specifically for schools, athletic teams, and community groups looking to enhance athletic performance. Led by AWF Level 2 Weightlifting Coach Brandon Accardi, these sessions focus on developing technical proficiency, strength, and power in a structured and educational environment.
We offer fully customizable workshops that can be delivered onsite at your school or sports facility, or at our dedicated training space, ensuring the program aligns perfectly with your group's specific goals and needs.
